The perfect 10. We go through life striving to hit everything on a scale of 10 – body building, academics, work performance, hotel ratings and now vacation. This marks the first of our Top 10 series. We will be bringing a series of the best of everything, in our opinion.

With the holidays around the corner, festivities in full spring the year of 2018 is almost about to end after a romantic high of new years eve. The next vacation to plan is the spring break. Sunny skies, crisp winds, floral scents and colors will all be back in our lives, even before we know it. Hence, we will keep looking in that direction to find the best destinations to spend the spring holidays with your loved ones.

1.      London
The city that gave us Harry Potter, Peppa pig, Mary Poppins and Peter Pan is naturally on top of our list. Add to that list, a real life Palace with dressed up soldiers, the famous London Tower Bridge, the free trips to museums. The historic city also offers guided tours as the Harry Potter Studios. The green parks, famous chef restaurants and shopping districts make this city a tourist favorite.


2.      Lisbon
Rarely too hot or too cold, the beautiful country of Portugal is a great destination to visit with kids all year around. We picked Lisbon for its ease of access, the great public transportation and its fairy-tale like old world districts. The entire country offers a great value-for-money experience. The city has an art district, gorgeously romantic view points and many spots to bike around for seeing the city better. It also offers many day trip options to nearby seaside towns or short weekend trips to the famous cities of Porto and Sintra among others.


3.      New York
Every season is beautiful in this top city. Just recovering from winter, the spring winds bring in the beautiful cherry blossoms all over the city. Easter festival also makes it a fun time for kids to be here. Other than that, the city has tons of museums, open play areas, Broadway plays, virtual gaming areas and kid special menus. The trip could also be extended along the eastern coast of USA to the capital city of Washington DC by road or  other famous tourist spots such as Niagara, Havard University in Boston or perhaps a Disney Cruise from Florida. In order to make it a budget trip, planning in advance and looking into details may help in tapping into the resources of this widespread megacity.


4.      Rome
Sunflowers, architecture, music and fine art. This historic city welcomes guests of all ages and it offers something to everyone. Taking you back in time with its historic edifices, organized trips to the Vatican, the Colosseum or the leaning tower of Pisa this city can easily be a favorite. Day trips to Pompei, Tuscany, Florence or weekend trips to the beautiful Sicilian towns can make this a complete package of adventure, education and relaxation.


5.       Dubrovnik
Croatia’s most fascinating city is a must visit for families with kids who are curious and seek adventure. The historic walled city offers palaces, museums, open air theatres and beaches. Facing the Adriatic sea, you can even plan to attend the music festival which fills its cobblestoned streets with fun. Like other countries in Europe, you can plan weekend trips to the rest of the country, by road or by train. The cities of Split, Zadar and Plitvice Lakes National Park are other amazing wonders within Croatia which kids and adults of all ages thoroughly enjoy.


6.      Bavaria
Germany has some of the oldest and largest museums in the world, with many child centered activities. Of course winter months offer the Christmas markets and towns filled with Christmas parties in the evening, spring time also is very fun away from the tourist rush and the summer heat. The gardens, the clock towers, shops with hand-crafted toys, kid friendly beer gardens, well developed roads, modern amenities make this beautiful region of Germany a very attractive holiday spot. Munich is the most accessible cities for international flights and centrally located for driving to the lake towns around Contanze, the Neuschwanstein Castle made famous by Disney or other well-preserved medeival towns of Bavaria such as Rothenburg.



7.      Salzburg
For lovers of classical music and fine art, the mountains of Austria hold a special charm. The movie Sound of Music has made this place legendary but one can also find handcrafted markets and scrumptious food all which has been well preserved by locals the 16th century. Road trips to Vienna can be easily planned making palaces, children’s museums and gorgeous architecture another thing to add to the trip. Vienna State Opera offers hour-long children's operas. For adults, there are other exciting things to do such as virtually conduct your own orchestra at Haus der Musik.


8.      Bernese Oberland
Swizterland is perhaps the best country for enjoying the outdoors life with kids. Being a smaller country geographically, all areas are easily accessible by road and open to all tourists. The Bernese Oberland is a true treat for families with kids. You could organize short hikes up the mountains with kids, or take a train ride or travel to a local destination closer to the mountain and then take a cable car uphill. Either ways, there are plenty of destinations to explore such as Jungfrau – where you can see the Swiss villages upclose or Engelberg – which has a designated children’s train car with a scavenger hunt or Schilthorn – where kids can relive the Hollywood experiences of James Bond. Other famous kids attractions include the Allmendhubel Flower Playground and Children’s Adventure Trail make this a very unique experience in the mountains for kids and adults of all ages.


9.      Stockholm
With old towns, rurual culture, open air museums and a well-connected public transport, the city of Stockholm makes a great budget family trip. Set on 14 connected islands, it has distinctive architectural and cultural sites with a touch of medieval history. For kids, attractions such as World of Pippi Longstocking amusement park, trip to the royal palace or the fancy island hopping to various districts bound together by bridges will make a great trip. Additionally, pictures of the colorful homes along the waterside make postcard perfect memories.


10.   Paris
The beautiful city of lights offers legendary landmarks, best rated museums, gourmet food and unforgettable sights along the river. Children of all ages can enjoy the arts in Louvre, modern art at Pompidou or enjoy the famous paintings at the most talked about museums. Day trips to Disneyland, Versailles Palace or cruises along the water to the countryside make this a worthwhile educational trip for all kinds of tourists giving everyone a feel of the fancy, luxury and yet cozy city.
